Radiesse® - Collagen-Stimulating Filler
Restore Structure. Stimulate Collagen.
RADIESSE® and RADIESSE® (+) are calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA)–based dermal fillers used to smooth moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds while also restoring volume and definition. Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, Radiesse provides immediate contouring while stimulating your body’s natural collagen and elastin production for longer-lasting improvement.
As with all injectable treatments, results depend heavily on proper technique. Treatments are performed by experienced, highly trained medical professionals who prioritize safety, precision, and natural-looking outcomes.

How Radiesse Works
RADIESSE® is the first and only FDA-approved CaHA filler portfolio that provides both immediate correction and long-term skin improvement. Once injected, the CaHA particles form a supportive scaffold beneath the skin. Over time, this scaffold stimulates your body to naturally produce collagen and elastin, improving skin structure even after the filler itself is absorbed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why would someone prefer a non-hyaluronic acid-based filler?
The consistency of a CaHA filler is typically thicker than that of a hyaluronic acid filler and typically lasts longer as well, about 12 months for most patients. Calcium hydroxyapatite is also reported to help stimulate natural collagen production, and it is typically used for deeper lines and wrinkles.
What must I do after getting a filler?
Most patients can return to their everyday activities after leaving the office. To reduce any redness and swelling from the injections, your injector may recommend icing the area for 15 to 20 minutes before you leave.
Before you leave the office, you should be able to apply makeup. For approximately 24 hours after treatment, you should avoid significant movement or massage of the treated area.
Is there any downtime?
This varies with the filler. Most fillers do not cause downtime. Be sure to ask your injector whether you will have any downtime. Some bruising, redness, and swelling are to be expected but can be lessened by taking arnica and eating fresh pineapple. Before having injectables, it is advised to avoid using vitamin E and Ibuprofen as they cause thinning of the blood and create more bruising.
When will I see the results after getting a filler?
This also varies with the filler. Most fillers fill the skin, so they produce immediate — or close to immediate — results. A filler also can stimulate your body to produce collagen, but this takes time.
How long will Radiesse last?
- Sculptra poly-L-lactic acid, requires you to gently massage the treated area for about five minutes several times a day for 1-2 weeks. Your injector will tell you if you need to massage the area.
- No straining, heavy lifting, vigorous exercise, excessive sun or heat exposure, exposure to extreme cold, or drinking alcoholic beverages for 24 hours following treatment.
- Please wait two weeks before any other aesthetic treatments. Cold packs may be applied to areas of swelling after injections.
- Please refer to the complete pre- and post-care instructions that are emailed to you upon reserving your appointment or ask your provider or a customer care coordinator for a complete set of instructions.
